The corner led FCF north's Xie Yan to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, FCF north's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Fausto de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fausto de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Arcan Çapan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arcan Çapan really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 30 minutes, Felix Montes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the FCF north players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
