Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingemar Tolsson in the 82nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wlodzimierz Dawiec breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Mörbyhus Palace were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
