The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Moises Fernandino a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of El Salvador booed when A.D. Bar-Met was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Etxekopar didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Joshua Curbelo fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Joshua Curbelo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelo Marko made in the 42nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Melchor Muc immediately put the ball in play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 76 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. Moises Fernandino kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Erubiel Solustiano suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Marco Tamayo got his second yellow card in the match during the 79th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Fausto Etxekopar scored 1-3 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fausto Txartiko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Sidro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melchor Muc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A.D. Bar-Met played a much better game than El Salvador and deserved their victory. The El Salvador players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
