Aurelio Vinciguerra ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Foot Ball Club di Roma's corner Aurelio Vinciguerra fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dante Lacasa quite easily take care of the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Niccolo Zaniolo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd match minute, Foot Ball Club di Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biagio Pallini to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the game, Niccolo Zaniolo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa. Niccolo Zaniolo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 32 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Pardini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute of play forced Foot Ball Club di Roma's goalkeeper Alvaro Pardini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Foot Ball Club di Roma's Alvaro Pardini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Biagio Pallini. Foot Ball Club di Roma's Alvaro Pardini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 48th minute of play. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Foot Ball Club di Roma's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Armando Ceresoli was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Biagio Di Marco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvaro Pardini made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Nicola Zalewski kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Foot Ball Club di Roma made a substitution. Gianluca Mancini replaced Nicola Zalewski. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, Leonardo Leoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Alvaro Pardini successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. After 81 minutes of play, Foot Ball Club di Roma's Biagio Scoca made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 87 minutes, Niccolo Zaniolo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Foot Ball Club di Roma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niccolo Zaniolo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Foot Ball Club di Roma's Aldo Pesce was substituted for Ettore Scarcella. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Many of Mexico's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Mexico may have spent more time on the ball, but Foot Ball Club di Roma were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
