A throw-in in the 7th minute of the game was made by Zhou Yan Qi with Benigno Osmundo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 8th minute of play forced FC Temeswar Banat's goalkeeper Aimé Holtmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after FC Temeswar Banat's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Artemio Lucian in the 20th minute. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aimé Holtmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. FC Temeswar Banat's Aimé Holtmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 35th minute of play. When Peru's Julian Murillo in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Temeswar Banat's goalie prevented a goal. If Artemio Lucian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adrian Neubauer to make the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Artemio Lucian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Temeswar Banat's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adrian Neubauer in the 53rd minute. After taking down the ball on FC Temeswar Banat's corner Adrian Neubauer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Aimé Holtmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 55th minute of play. FC Temeswar Banat's Aimé Holtmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 60th minute of play. Julian Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Aimé Holtmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 74th minute of play forced FC Temeswar Banat's goalkeeper Aimé Holtmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manfred Rinke was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 75 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, one of FC Temeswar Banat:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Temeswar Banat. When the match had been going on for 77 minutes, Peru's Luz Tejedor got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Aimé Holtmann. 79 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Agapito Diaz came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, FC Temeswar Banat's Adrian Neubauer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aimé Holtmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Rafael Gallo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aimé Holtmann, 2-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
