Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Mendonça in the 15th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, E. C. Uruguaiana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to E. C. Uruguaiana getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Flavius Marinescu hit a great ball. The long shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute really tested Vicente Guimarães's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Vicente Guimarães made a huge save. In the 26th minute, Maicon Palmeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Maicon Palmeira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Vicente Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geovani Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 40th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. E. C. Uruguaiana's Vicente Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save E. C. Uruguaiana from getting a goal against them. 45 minutes into the match, E. C. Uruguaiana's goalkeeper Vicente Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. E. C. Uruguaiana's Vicente Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save E. C. Uruguaiana from getting a goal against them. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in E. C. Uruguaiana's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Guimarães came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vicente Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute of the match. Flavius Marinescu hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Maicon Palmeira took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. E. C. Uruguaiana's Vicente Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Lei Bin Kuan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 0-3. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Vicente Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maicon Palmeira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. In the 87th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. E. C. In the 92nd minute, Geovani Mendonça got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chants of E. C. Uruguaiana echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ecuador had held the ball for most of the match.
