Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) After 2 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. With 8 minutes on the clock, Antonio Arias commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cable a Tierra:s goal. Gavino Egoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Cable a Tierra's Leonides Telesforo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Cable a Tierra from getting a goal against them. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Cable a Tierra's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leonides Telesforo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 31st minute, Narciso Bertassi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavino Egoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gavino Egoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Gavino Egoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cable a Tierra's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavino Egoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Saverio Mercurio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Saverio Mercurio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristian Sancho to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonides Telesforo saved Cable a Tierra from getting behind. Gavino Egoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 59th minute Narciso Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fermin Montiel was slow to take the kick. During this time Cable a Tierra's players had a chance to rest. Cable a Tierra's Claudio Echeverri was substituted for Gavino Egoi. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the game, Narciso Bertassi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Narciso Bertassi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. A collision led to Cable a Tierra getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Fermin Montiel hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Vitoldas Bilota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cable a Tierra were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fermin Montiel took the corner. The corner ended in Fermin Montiel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Saverio Mercurio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute of the match Fermin Montiel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
