BVB 09's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patricio Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Filip Mirciulescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 14th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valeriu Blaj in the 16th minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Călin Olăroiu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BVB 09's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Călin Olăroiu kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoş Ivasiuc, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoş Ivasiuc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Horaţiu Mahonea made in the 33rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Dragoş Ivasiuc. 37 minutes into the game, Valeriu Blaj cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dragoş Ivasiuc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dragoş Ivasiuc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 54th minute of play forced BVB 09's goalkeeper Filip Mirciulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Filip Mirciulescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 65 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 71st minute. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Joshua Secada might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filip Mirciulescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joshua Secada ran back to his position shaking his head. 78 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of BVB 09's Filip Mirciulescu. Filip Mirciulescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Filip Mirciulescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filip Mirciulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th match minute, BVB 09 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Ciocâltea to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Mirciulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when BVB 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valeriu Blaj didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filip Mirciulescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
