After a rather tough play, PACIFIC FC's Xurdin Jado got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 8th minute, Rodolfo Toraya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play forced PACIFIC FC's goalkeeper Carlos Casasola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moises Villalcazars short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Carlos Casasola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 36th minute of play. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Moises Villalcazar sent off a good shot on target. 41 minutes into the game, Moises Villalcazar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PACIFIC FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Francisco Ferreros received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Francisco Ferreros slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 46th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moises Villalcazar was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Urre Abellaneda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in PACIFIC FC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Casasola came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute PACIFIC FC were awarded a corner. Rodolfo Toraya went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Rodolfo Toraya got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Villalcazar in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Anibal Serrano kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. If Francisco Ferreros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The PACIFIC FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
