An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 4th minute of play forced Alianza FC's goalkeeper Nofre Estany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute Marin Ciprian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Marin Ciprian kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rolando Noboa. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baran Gayret, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nofre Estany read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Nofre Estany showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 31st minute of the match. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Baran Gayret sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Baran Gayret tried to sneak it across the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Alianza FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Nofre Estany reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nofre Estany showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of the match. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Alianza FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Júnior Arruda got a throw-in 51 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sorin Hreapcă. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yiyo Cianca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baran Gayret in the 59th minute of the match. Marin Ciprian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 65 minutes, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milagros Fraga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Milagros Fraga took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Nofre Estany to make any attempt to save it. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baran Gayret, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alianza FC's Nofre Estany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the game, Alianza FC's Yiyo Cianca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 77 minutes into the game, Júnior Arruda threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. In the 93rd minute, Rafael Gallo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nofre Estany was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
