The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rodrigo Alonso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from King Junel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, ＡＣＡＤＥＭＩＡ נυηєℓυ's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Bono Chotov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bono Chotov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of the match. Gilbert Michnik hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mårten Nord in the 24th minute. Gilbert Michnik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Isidor in the 29th minute of play. In the 46th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bono Chotov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute, Nils-Erik Lund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mårten Nord was slow to take the kick. During this time ＡＣＡＤＥＭＩＡ נυηєℓυ's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Mårten Nord almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. It was a well-played corner which Leopoldo Isidor managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Bono Chotov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilbert Michnik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by King Junel in the 66th minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Bono Chotov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 85 played minutes ＡＣＡＤＥＭＩＡ נυηєℓυ got a freekick which was hit by Willie Nelson. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 87th minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Bono Chotov in ＡＣＡＤＥＭＩＡ נυηєℓυ's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. King Junel struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ＡＣＡＤＥＭＩＡ נυηєℓυ. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilbert Michnik, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
