Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Seagulls's Nildo Matos shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Severin Kotrulev got a throw-in 7 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Michel Cremers. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Michel Cremers took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nildo Matos in the 29th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Seagulls's Aurelio Rexino got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Seagulls's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Rexino came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Severin Kotrulev hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute Nildo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nildo Matos in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute Nildo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nildo Matos in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nildo Matos made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Cremers got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Matos came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Rexino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nildo Matos's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. The Seagulls fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Seagulls's Nildo Matos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Nildo Matos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 67th minute Seagulls were awarded a corner. Ben Rensenbrink went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 73rd minute, Michel Cremers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Severin Kotrulev made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Aurelio Rexino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 82nd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nildo Matos's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Nildo Matos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nildo Matos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Marco Mook hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Seagulls's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
