The supporters of Ecuador booed when ПФК „Славия“ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urtungo Vidrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of play forced ПФК „Славия“'s goalkeeper Anastas Púdarev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Spiridon Lekov's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Daniel Zorita in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anastas Púdarev, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Anastas Púdarev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Onyemauchechi Orumah kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Spiridon Lekov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Anastas Púdarev in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mladen Benishev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Spiridon Lekov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ПФК „Славия“ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. ПФК „Славия“'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
