The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Manuel Antono made a huge save. After some careless play in the Golden Arrows defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manuel Antono. The Golden Arrows fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manuel Antono should have stopped the shot. 15 minutes into the match, Arkadiusz Wnukowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arkadiusz Wnukowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Golden Arrows's Manuel Antono proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Golden Arrows from getting a goal against them. Golden Arrows made a substitution. Lucas Mothobi replaced Ismail Komani. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Gonza in the 31st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lucas Mothobi who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruperto Gonza in the 40th minute of play. Jânio Motta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Golden Arrows getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. 毛星默 hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Antono breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arkadiusz Wnukowski was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Motta came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Antono having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruperto Gonza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After 58 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lucas Mothobi who took care of the corner kick. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Golden Arrows's Ruperto Gonza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 61 minutes into the match, Golden Arrows's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Manuel Antono reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arkadiusz Wnukowski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Ruperto Gonza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkadiusz Wnukowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 75 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manuel Antono made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Manuel Antono didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Manuel Antono made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 80th minute of play. Ruperto Gonzas short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Ruperto Gonza came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Golden Arrows fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruperto Gonza couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manuel Antono made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
