The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 12 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Fred Hellqvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fred Hellqvist having to make a save. After having played for 17 minutes, Peter Salqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kumla BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Salqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Per Forss put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The audience thought a goal was coming when Calle Vester got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Salqvist in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Kumla BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fred Hellqvist in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 32 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fred Hellqvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Fred Hellqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the game, Peter Salqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 43 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fred Hellqvist. Kumla BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Per Forss stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Peter Salqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Per Forss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kumla BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Per Forss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fred Hellqvist made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. After 61 minutes, Simon Västberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kumla BK and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Kumla BK getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Simon Västberg hit a great ball. After 62 minutes of play Kumla BK's Simon Västberg was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Kumla BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Västberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 66th minute of play forced Kumla BK's goalkeeper Fred Hellqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Calle Vester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Calle Vester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calle Vester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvin Bäckman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calle Vester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fred Hellqvist having to make a save. 94 minutes into the match, Kumla BK's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Fred Hellqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chants of Venezuela echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Kumla BK had held the ball for most of the match.
