In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alp Arslan was slow to take the kick. During this time AYYILDIZ's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ahmet Çağrı Baykır got free with Rolando Noboa in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Göktürk Semin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Ahmet Çağrı Baykır stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Ahmet Çağrı Baykır tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gregorio Ruiz to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Göktürk Semin in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61stth minute of the game Gregorio Ruiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 64 minutes into the match, AYYILDIZ's Alp Arslan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Göktürk Semin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! AYYILDIZ's Fabiano Perdigão was substituted for Leo Richie. After 79 played minutes AYYILDIZ got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Romino. Eliseo Mina hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. The supporters of AYYILDIZ booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alp Arslan who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on AYYILDIZ's corner Alp Arslan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. 87 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when AYYILDIZ's Lukas Kvarnström fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by AYYILDIZ's Antonio Romino. But to his dismay, Antonio Romino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. AYYILDIZ's Göktürk Semin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save AYYILDIZ from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, AYYILDIZ's Göktürk Semin got control of the ball when Rafael Gallo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 96th match minute, AYYILDIZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Nejat Atay to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Peru players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AYYILDIZ.
