Carel Van de Schrieck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 15th minute of play forced Café DE PLOEG's goalkeeper Carel Van de Schrieck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carel Van de Schrieck came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Carel Van de Schrieck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 20th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Herbert Sempels showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 26 minute of play. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Carel Van de Schrieck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Michael Wollans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. In the 41st minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Michael Wollans's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Michael Wollans helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mexico booed when Café DE PLOEG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Wollans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herbert Sempels was the one to do the kick off. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
