Marcus Engström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Gabrielsson in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 12 in the game by Jan Gabrielsson from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Marcus Engström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play. Marcus Engström came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan Gabrielsson. Julio Vera was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Jan Gabrielsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jan Gabrielsson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After having played for 26 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcus Engström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of the match. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 35 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Duracell Dribblers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Engström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Duracell Dribblers's Marcus Engström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Duracell Dribblers from getting a goal against them. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Duracell Dribblers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcus Engström quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 65th minute Jan Gabrielsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute Duracell Dribblers were awarded a corner. Jan Gabrielsson went to the cornerflag to take it. Duracell Dribblers's Billy Svensson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Sebastián Puig during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 67th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Samuel Holmgren's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Jan Gabrielsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Duracell Dribblers's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Gabrielsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan Gabrielsson went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
