Anıl Mücahit Efe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of the match. The supporters of Erzincan FK booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 27 minutes, Camilo Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Erzincan FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Erzincan FK booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şenel Barbaros in the 28th minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Erzincan FK's Şenel Barbaros. But to his dismay, Şenel Barbaros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Anıl Mücahit Efe in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 32 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Şenel Barbaros came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anıl Mücahit Efe came out and tried to block the shot, but Felix Montenegro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Erzincan FK's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anıl Mücahit Efe came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Erzincan FK were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Ortega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Ariel Ortega sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ariel Ortega in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anıl Mücahit Efe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Şenel Barbaros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Erzincan FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Şenel Barbaros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şenel Barbaros in the 69th minute of play. 76 minutes into the game, Ariel Ortega recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Ariel Ortega showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Ariel Ortega succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 79th playminute. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Ariel Ortega sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anıl Mücahit Efe was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Ariel Ortega's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ariel Ortega helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Erzincan FK getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Ariel Ortega hit a great ball.
