Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Tomasz Huchro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Tomasz Huchro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to 9 de Diciembre getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Amado Lider hit a great ball. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Carrizo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 minutes of play, 9 de Diciembre's Tomasz Huchro made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, 9 de Diciembre's Tomasz Huchro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play forced 9 de Diciembre's goalkeeper Amadeo Carrizo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amadeo Carrizo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amadeo Carrizo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 42nd minute of play. Camilo Gisbert charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gisbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 46th minute. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomasz Huchro's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. 9 de Diciembre were awarded a corner in the 50th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Angel Osasun took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Pål Säv managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Amado Lider could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 50th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomasz Huchro was the one to do the kick off. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 68th minute Tomasz Huchro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Amadeo Carrizo made a huge save. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nils-Åke Kristiansson during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th minute, Nils-Åke Kristiansson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomasz Huchro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 de Diciembre's Tomasz Huchro got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to 9 de Diciembre getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Angel Osasun hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amadeo Carrizo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Tomasz Huchro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomasz Huchro, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
