After 19 minutes Tykhela FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 20th match minute, Tykhela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrzej Rusin to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Maarek Vananurm tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 43 played minutes Tykhela FC got a freekick which was hit by Albérico Linhares. In the 48th minute of the match Tykhela FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dorian Lopes ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alo Kalenik firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Tykhela FC's Alo Kalenik got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Agustín Saelices got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After having played for 94 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alo Kalenik was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
