Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Pedersson in the 11th minute of play. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Abdulkerim Türköne kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Hamodi Hamid could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdulkerim Türköne in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Ignacio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 32nd minute of the match. The supporters of ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪ booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Abdulkerim Türköne sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪'s zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ignacio Vera came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamodi Hamid, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 90th minute Abdulkerim Türköne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes in the game, Abdulkerim Türköne dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Galip Kayrak in the 93rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdulkerim Türköne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
