Felipe Gombal kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Ignacio Abaurre's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ignacio Abaurre helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Deportivo el Divague was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacio Abaurre didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Deportivo el Divague's goalie and right to Felix Montenegro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Deportivo el Divague's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Diego Fe took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 31st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wei Chao Yi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deportivo el Divague's Wei Chao Yi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Deportivo el Divague was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Apolo Banegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Deportivo el Divague getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Octavio Vellito hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Deportivo el Divague's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Wei Chao Yi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wei Chao Yi could save by the left post. Octavio Vellito hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Wei Chao Yi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Wei Chao Yi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 73rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Deportivo el Divague's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ignacio Abaurre was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Deportivo el Divague's Antonio Rüdiger got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Wei Chao Yi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 84th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wei Chao Yi having to interfere. In the 89th match minute, Deportivo el Divague was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavio Vellito to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Fe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Wei Chao Yi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
