Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Deportivo el Divague's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Wei Chao Yi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Fe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. 32 minutes into the match, Andrei Ačas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Deportivo el Divague's Alonzo Tercero got a free kick in the 35th minute. Ignacio Abaurre charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ignacio Abaurre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Deportivo el Divague getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Ignacio Abaurre hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, one of Deportivo el Divague:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deportivo el Divague. Wei Chao Yi went to the wrong direction when Tomas Illescas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Fe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Fe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 59th minute of play forced Deportivo el Divague's goalkeeper Wei Chao Yi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Deportivo el Divague getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Apolo Banegas hit a great ball. Alex Chicote's late challenge caught a Deportivo el Divague's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Chicote helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Deportivo el Divague booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Fe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Deportivo el Divague were victorious despite being under pressure from Venezuela for much of the match.
