The audience thought a goal was coming when József Sallói got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when József Sallói scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 1-0. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 2-0 when József Sallói sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Camilo Franco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 21 minutes, Zakariás Tótfalusi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Szentgotthárd and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 37 minutes into the match, Szentgotthárd's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Kornél Hajdú reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, József Sallói put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for József Sallói to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, József Sallói managed to get in a good position for a shot. Szentgotthárd's supporters rose to their feet, but József Sallói was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kornél Hajdú showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when József Sallói came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kornél Hajdú showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Cazalla in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Camilo Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 91 minutes, Konstanty Dzierwa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szentgotthárd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Konstanty Dzierwa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 92 minutes, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szentgotthárd's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
