Cisco Rubial was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sven-Erik Hermansson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cisco Rubial saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AC Ony's Cisco Rubial played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciprian Caba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 46th minute of play forced AC Ony's goalkeeper Cisco Rubial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by AC Ony's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Erik Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cisco Rubial breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 60 played minutes AC Ony got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Arseanu. After 61 played minutes AC Ony got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Banciu. AC Ony's Victorino Cristofor was substituted for Cipriano Chus. In the 62nd match minute, AC Ony was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Banciu to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Donald Tusk came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cisco Rubial having to interfere. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cisco Rubial could save by the left post. Donald Tusk struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Ony. Cisco Rubial made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Ernest Arseanu kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
