Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciprian Caba in the 41st minute of play. When Jose Correa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 41 minutes had been played. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Banciu got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Patricio Costa made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Ciprian Caba had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciprian Caba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 59th minute, Donald Tusk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Isac Mihalcea made in the 66th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sven-Erik Hermansson immediately put the ball in play. Isac Mihalcea hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. After 82 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Donald Tusk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Donald Tusk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Donald Tusk came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute of the match AC Ony got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sorin Romaşcanu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AC Ony was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position.
