When Cristo Gabas fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aysouraguán's protests and gave Cristo Gabas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Aysouraguán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristo Gabas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 7th minute of the match, Abi Russo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Abi Russo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. After 13 minutes, Hugo Ferrant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Aysouraguán players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. When Aysouraguán's Abi Russo in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Axel Tasis might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jaizki Valverde. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Tasis ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Alexander Carballo hit a great ball. If Abi Russo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Efrain Moruga in the 41st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Aysouraguán's Feliberto Abellan. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abi Russo made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Peter Alacuart kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. The supporters of Aysouraguán booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute Henry Salazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Abi Russo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Aysouraguán's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
