Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the last second Julio Vera throw himself and got hold of the ball when Martín Ulloa in the 21stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Daniel Zorita scored 0-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juan Benavides, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Escobar in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Escobar in the 36th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Ulloa in the 39th minute of the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Humberto Escobar's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the game, Humberto Escobar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Zheko Kraychev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martín Ulloa in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After 68 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Juan Benavides stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. After a rather tough play, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Tomás Benavides got a free kick in the 75th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Escalona came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Juan Benavides made a huge save. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Benavides kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Ulloa in the 93rd minute of the match. Humberto Escobar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ren Peng Fei during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Daniel Zorita, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
