With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Lucrețiu Cazacu tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when SALI's Damazy Dziewedik fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of play forced SALI's goalkeeper Tanek Narbut to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to SALI getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Bartlomiej Mielak hit a great ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SALI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucrețiu Cazacu didn't get a good kick on the ball. SALI's Tanek Narbut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. Tanek Narbut showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of the match. Tanek Narbut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damazy Dziewedik in the 42nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
