MaviAteşSK's Isidoro Gelmiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 12th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Isidoro Gelmiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isidoro Gelmiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, MaviAteşSK's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Isidoro Gelmiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Jerrald in the 27th minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after MaviAteşSK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Juan Sebastián Puig was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 33 minutes into the game, Camilo Gisbert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MaviAteşSK the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of MaviAteşSK:s goal. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Aytunç Kuter:s penalty. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isidoro Gelmiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Behzat Altuncuoğlu scored 2-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 78 played minutes MaviAteşSK got a freekick which was hit by Yngve Örtendahl. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Behzat Altuncuoğlu in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Isidoro Gelmiro made a huge save. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Behzat Altuncuoğlu made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In the 95thth minute of the game Behzat Altuncuoğlu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. MaviAteşSK were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
