Peru's Milagros Fraga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Borys Poreda in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 20th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Victoria Toruń's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Borys Poreda quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naci Kac in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Naci Kac. In the 27th minute Dragolyub Dzhahov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 33rd minute of play forced Victoria Toruń's goalkeeper Borys Poreda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
