That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. After a rather tough play, FK Partizani Tirana's Guido Eberl got a free kick in the 24th minute. Thorsten Benscheider made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Tafalla in the 25th minute of play. The supporters of Honduras booed when FK Partizani Tirana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. The FK Partizani Tirana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thorsten Benscheider should have stopped the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Edmundo Espiga made the kick off in the second half. When the match was over Honduras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FK Partizani Tirana throughout the match.
