But to his dismay, Edmundo Espiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Atletico Van Goof's Safy Belfaa got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 9th minute of the match Luca Espinar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alberto Di Placido showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ercole Marcon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastian Villa struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Alberto Di Placido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Alberto Di Placido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Di Placido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 18th minute of the match. After 19 minutes, Daniele Di Croce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Van Goof and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. Atletico Van Goof's Alberto Di Placido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 39th minute of play. Bruno Del Pizzo made in the 43rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Alexander Tomasso however managed to control. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ercole Marcon to strike the kick off in the second half.
