In the 9th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xu Yi Lei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xu Yi Lei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 24th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, City Friseur Wuppertal's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Xu Yi Lei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xu Yi Lei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of City Friseur Wuppertal booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The City Friseur Wuppertal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. City Friseur Wuppertal made a substitution. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 68th minute of play forced City Friseur Wuppertal's goalkeeper Xu Yi Lei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Xu Yi Lei was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 70 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Ryback came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xu Yi Lei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Mancebo to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Albi Martínez came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The City Friseur Wuppertal support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
