During the 22nd minute of the match Alan Moruga completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alan Moruga a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Andersson in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Andersson came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emil Andersson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emil Andersson to make the kick off. In the 94th minute, Emil Andersson made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Wrexham A.F.C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
