Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 27th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Safet Hands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Julian Murillo got free in front of the goal in the 44th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Safet Hands was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Juan Lebron reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rolando Noboa. The goal made the score 3-2. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Lebron was the one to do the kick off. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Lebron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stig-Arne Deckberg to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Milagros Fraga could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Safet Hands however easily saved by the left post. In the 61st minute, Peru's Milagros Fraga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Hermansson was substituted for Måns Sandberg. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Lebron in the 68th minute of play. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calle Bergfelt in the 83rd minute of play. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Safet Hands read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huang Fei Ting in the 87th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milagros Fraga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peru made a substitution.
