The referee ignored Liden FF's protests and gave Felix Vennersten a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Liden FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Vennersten didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Ove Eliasson having to interfere. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Liden FF's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Ove Eliasson came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 32 minutes, Marcu Vlas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liden FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcu Vlas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 40thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liden FF's Sven-Ove Eliasson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Ove Eliasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felix Vennersten was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Felix Vennersten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liden FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Sven-Ove Eliasson made a huge save. In the 66th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Ove Eliasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Liden FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vidar Vikström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Patricio Costa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sven-Ove Eliasson, passed just outside the right post. If Marcu Vlas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vidar Vikström went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Tomas Illescas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sven-Ove Eliasson. That made the score 2-2 after 95 minutes of play.
