Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Osvaldo Iago tried to sneak it across the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, C.A. Caminiaga's Osvaldo Iago nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldo Iago in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Osvaldo Iago fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benito Sanz, passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 32nd minute of play forced C.A. Caminiaga's goalkeeper Hemming Tjørnum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldo Iago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victorino Frasco. In the 43rd minute, C.A. Caminiaga's Rodolfo Txeru dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victorino Frasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Iago in the 52nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Venceslao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 minutes, Hugo Ferrant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the C.A. Caminiaga players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Victorino Frasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. 71 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Iago came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 74th minute. Juan Rubio's late challenge caught a C.A. Caminiaga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Rodolfo Txeru made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 96 played minutes C.A. Caminiaga got a freekick which was hit by Melchor Frances.
