In the 9th minute Osvaldinho Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14thth minute of the game Yenal Tanır who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Marco Day was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Monty Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Espírito Santo in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute of the match Juventus PTM got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vidar Albäck ran over to the corner to take the kick. Raimundo Espírito Santo charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raimundo Espírito Santo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 played minutes Juventus PTM got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Espírito Santo. In the 28th minute, Cassius Byrne ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armando Gazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After having played for 30 minutes, Raimundo Espírito Santo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juventus PTM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundo Espírito Santo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Juventus PTM getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Alex Acatincăi hit a great ball. Armando Gazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Mcdonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Monty Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Juventus PTM's Koray Karan got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Cassius Byrne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabian Brown hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cassius Byrne to strike the kick off in the second half. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juventus PTM were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after USA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vidar Albäck took the corner. Osvaldinho Messias made a great header on Juventus PTM's corner, it was just that USA's Marco Day managed to reach the ball for a save. If Yenal Tanır had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of USA booed when Juventus PTM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koray Karan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Juventus PTM's goalkeeper Armando Gazza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cassius Byrne. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Messias in the 74th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Espírito Santo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Cassius Byrne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Gazza having to interfere. Juventus PTM's Ferdinand Honcioiu was substituted for Raimundo Espírito Santo. Juventus PTM's Patrick Viera was substituted for Alex Acatincăi. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. When Juventus PTM's Ferdinand Honcioiu, in the 90th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Juventus PTM. After some careless play in the Juventus PTM defense, Sam Campbell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armando Gazza. The Juventus PTM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armando Gazza should have stopped the shot. When the match was over USA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Juventus PTM throughout the match.
