Teobaldo Panpili's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Eduardo Beliran in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 12 played minutes Arribeños Sur got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Formerio. After 13 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Orla Haxmark came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Orla Haxmark narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Eduardo Beliran fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arribeños Sur's protests and gave Eduardo Beliran a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Arribeños Sur got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Beliran. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Orla Haxmark came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 52nd minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Arribeños Sur's Orla Haxmark got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador played a much better game than Arribeños Sur and deserved their victory. The Arribeños Sur players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
