Joakim Bergsten kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Henley Utd's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joakim Bergsten, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Edvin Jonsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Edvin Jonsson. Henley Utd made a substitution. Wesley Van Hoojdonk replaced Richarlison de Andrade. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edvin Jonsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of the match. If Joakim Bergsten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joakim Bergsten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Henley Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Edvin Jonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Henley Utd getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Wesley Van Hoojdonk hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvin Jonsson having to interfere. Edvin Jonsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute of the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Joakim Bergsten came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 56th minute of the game Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in which Cristian Sancho played forward. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joakim Bergsten in the 60th minute of play. When Joakim Bergsten came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Henley Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joakim Bergsten couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Henley Utd's Edvin Jonsson got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joakim Bergsten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joakim Bergsten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joakim Bergsten in the 78th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joakim Bergsten in the 81st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. 1-1 came in the 90th minute when Hannes Kjellqvist all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Edvin Jonsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score.
