To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th match minute, Prochnost was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cordarrel Villafane to maneuver through the defense. Claudinei Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evelio Urbasa made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Prochnost's Claudinei Velloso. Claudinei Velloso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Suárez in the 67th minute of play. Evelio Urbasa took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Prochnost had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
