In the 41st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 46 minutes, Chiquito Rico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mazio f.c.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiquito Rico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Mazio f.c. got a freekick which was hit by Christos Lebesis. In the 52nd minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquito Rico in the 53rd minute of the match. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nektarios Kalkounos having to make a save. 69 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nektarios Kalkounos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Chiquito Rico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
