With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Calvet in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Calvet in the 89th minute of play. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Chile booed when Los Mega was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Abeitia didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Los Mega's Federico Jaizki got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 95 minutes, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariano Lacasa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Chile had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
