Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pindobassu EC the free kick. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jeff Beck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeff Beck, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Veiga in the 95th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Pindobassu EC had controlled the match.
