An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 17th minute of play forced DACIA UNIREA BRĂILA's goalkeeper Miroslav Smola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Irinel Stăniloaie, made in the 21st minute of the game. Miroslav Smola was left in no man's land by his defense there! The DACIA UNIREA BRĂILA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miroslav Smola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. 56 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremiah Salter came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Korneliusz Antoszewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 played minutes DACIA UNIREA BRĂILA got a freekick which was hit by Beniamin Blochowiak. The nice shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 62ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Miroslav Smola had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Miroslav Smola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 66th minute of play. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great ball. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
