GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Alberto Tafalla fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ioan Papadima quite easily take care of the ball. After 33 played minutes GoooooooooooooooooooooooL got a freekick which was hit by Bogdan Pârlog. 34 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ioan Papadima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 37th match minute, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bogdan Pârlog to maneuver through the defense. Ioan Papadima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Ioan Papadima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save GoooooooooooooooooooooooL from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 91st minute of play forced GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalkeeper Ioan Papadima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ioan Papadima, 0-8.
