Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaido Jaas in the 5th minute of play. Ain Averin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mexico booed when FC Dundee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arvo Kena didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Dundee's Ain Averin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 27th minute of play forced FC Dundee's goalkeeper Ain Averin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaido Jaas in the 31st minute of the match. Ain Averin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ain Averin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ain Averin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 41st minute of play. With an all-out effort, FC Dundee's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kaido Jaas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

FC Dundee made a substitution. Arno Luuk replaced Hardi Lind. The wind increased when Arno Luuk made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Arno Luuk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arno Luuk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. A collision led to FC Dundee getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ivo Elu hit a great ball. In the 57th minute Arno Luuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ain Averin. FC Dundee's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Tafalla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ain Averin having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Facundo Cadaval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ain Averin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Arno Luuk came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arno Luuk's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ain Averin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. In the 95th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Dundee's Ain Averin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save FC Dundee from getting a goal against them. FC Dundee were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mexico for a fine match.
