Milagros Fraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstanty Wawro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdulhamit Beycan in the 7th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efraim Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. Rega Merida CF's Elpidio Umbruso shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 10th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Rolando Noboa but with some difficulty. After 13 played minutes Rega Merida CF got a freekick which was hit by Yaroslav Svitlychnyi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 25th minute of play forced Rega Merida CF's goalkeeper Konstanty Wawro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nistor Sârban blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Nistor Sârban sent off a good shot on target. 31 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Nistor Sârban came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nistor Sârban in the 34th minute of play. Rega Merida CF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Elpidio Umbruso in the 35th minute. After taking down the ball on Rega Merida CF's corner Elpidio Umbruso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Yaroslav Svitlychnyi made a throw-in in the 38th minute of the game. 39 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Konstanty Wawro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A sloppy throw-in by Yaroslav Svitlychnyi in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Joaquin Prats. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nistor Sârban made a kick off. The supporters of Rega Merida CF booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonso Berganza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Yaroslav Svitlychnyi in the 55 minute of the game. Moises Gayoso got a throw-in 57 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Luz Tejedor. Yaroslav Svitlychnyi hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Rega Merida CF's Konstanty Wawro got control of the ball when Luz Tejedor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Konstanty Wawro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 79th minute of play forced Rega Merida CF's goalkeeper Konstanty Wawro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Abdulhamit Beycan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rega Merida CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdulhamit Beycan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Konrad Knopek replaced Nistor Sârban. 88 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Konstanty Wawro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 90th minute Rafael Gallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstanty Wawro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 played minutes Rega Merida CF got a freekick which was hit by Constantin Arnăuțescu. Peru were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Rega Merida CF to leave the ground with a draw.
